Release Summary
Following positive feedback from sales about the Insights feature and user requests for practice segmentation options, we're adding a new way to view Aged Work in Progress data. Users can now analyse outstanding WIP segmented by Client Partner, enabling practices to report at the Partner level. This complements the existing views by Client and by Staff, giving users flexible reporting options to understand how work and resources are allocated across their practice.
What's changing:
We're introducing a new "Aged WIP by Client Partner" report in the Insights module, accessible from the same location as the existing Aged WIP reports.
How to access it: Navigate to Insights landing page → Report engine → Report summary dropdown → Select "Aged WIP" →Choose "by Client Partner"
What it does: This report groups all Work in Progress data by Client Partner, showing how WIP is distributed across partner levels within the practice. Each row represents a different Client Partner, with their WIP broken down by ageing categories.
Key functionality:
- Two-level drill-down:
- Level 1: Expand any Client Partner row to see the individual clients within their portfolio and how much WIP is attributed to each
- Level 2: Click on any cell amount to navigate to the Work in Progress page, pre-filtered to show the specific time recordings that make up that value
- All existing features included: The report works identically to the current "Aged WIP by Client" and "Aged WIP by Staff" reports, including:
- Standard ageing categories (0-29 days, 30-59 days, 60-89 days, 90-119 days, 120+ days)
- All filtering options (date range, client type, service, staff, etc.)
- Column sorting
- CSV export functionality
- Summary totals and calculations
Why this matters:
This feature was developed in response to user feedback and sales requests, which reported strong interest in practice segmentation capabilities.
- Partner-level reporting – Practices can now report on work allocated at the Client Partner level, addressing the specific request for practice segmentation options
- Resource visibility – Users can see which clients their Client Partners are allocating time resources to and identify where work is pending
- Better accountability – Outstanding revenue is grouped by the people responsible for managing those client relationships
- Informed decision-making– Understanding WIP patterns across different Client Partner portfolios helps practices improve processes, cash flow management, and resource allocation
- Flexible analysis– Users can combine this with existing Client and Staff views to analyse WIP from multiple perspectives
This is particularly valuable for practice Partners and regional teams who need to monitor WIP performance across different areas of the business or review Client Partner portfolios at a practice level.
