Release Summary
Following user feedback and requests, we're introducing a dedicated Tasks tab within Client Files. Users asked for a curated view of tasks based on the client they are working on, and this new tab delivers exactly that—automatically displaying all tasks related to the current client without the need to navigate away or apply filters. This keeps task management within the context of client work
and streamlines daily workflows.
What's changing:
We're adding a new Tasks tab to the Client Files navigation menu, positioned as the third option.
What users can do in the Tasks tab:
View tasks
- All tasks related to the current client are automatically displayed
- No filtering required—the tab shows only relevant tasks for the client being viewed
Perform bulk actions
- Multi-select tasks using checkboxes
- Use bulk actions: bulk complete and bulk reassign (same as the main Task List functionality)
Create new tasks
- Click the "New Task" button to create a task for the current client
- If the client has no tasks, a "Create New Task" button appears in the centre of the table
- Both options navigate to the New Task page with details pre-populated for the current client
Update tasks
- Access the side panel for any task to view details and progress the task
- Side panel functionality works identically to the main Task List
Why this matters:
Users told us they wanted a more efficient way to view and manage tasks while working in client files, and this feature directly addresses that feedback.
- Context-aware workflow – Users can manage tasks without leaving the client they're working on, reducing navigation and maintaining focus
- Faster task access – No need to navigate to the main Task List and apply client filters to see relevant tasks
- Streamlined task creation – Creating tasks for the current client is quicker, with context automatically set
- Reduced clicks – Everything needed to manage a client's tasks is available within the Client Files interface
- Familiar functionality – Bulk actions and side panel features work exactly as they do on the main Task List
This is particularly valuable when users are working through client files and need to quickly check task status, create follow-up tasks, or update progress without interrupting their workflow.
Find it here: The Tasks tab is now the third option in your Client Files navigation menu.
Why you'll love it: No more navigating to the main Task List and applying filters just to see a client's tasks. Everything you need to check status, create follow-ups, or update progress is right where you're already working.
