The completion of the check will update the status on the Overview page will change from Pending to Rejected.
An email will be sent as notification that it has been completed, inviting you to log in to view the reason for the result.
Selecting View on the right-hand side of the page will open the check details. Clicking Download document will allow you to view the PDF summary.
The summary document will reveal the reason for the rejection.
Potential reasons for the rejection include:
- Visual analysis failure - This relates to the image of the identification. The Credas check would not have been able to fully verify the document, commonly due to the image being cropped, blurry, having flash/glare or being poorly lit.
- Address verification failure - The Credas check tool uses https://getaddress.io/ for address data. If the address information entered does not match the values or general formatting of the address, it will not generate a match.
-
Facial recognition failure - The check was unable to match the photo of the person to their image on the identification. This can be linked to poorly taken images, but also substantial differences between the two, such as vastly different facial hair or appearance.
Certain check failure reasons may state that they are Pending manual check. This is to allow you an opportunity to review that reason for failure and consider it a pass, should you be happy that the details match.
Overriding a check result:
The result can be overridden if sufficient verification is provided. For further details, please see our separate guide on how to override a failed identity check result.
