BrightManager is pleased to announce the following updates made on our platform.
Release Summary
This is the beta release for V1 users. (V2 Beta global enablement - 31/03/2025).
The goal of the initiative is to enhance the usability of the task list, ensuring more effective task management through a more intuitive user experience. This improvement aims increase the adoption of the new View task list, facilitating customer migration from legacy versions, enable us to phase out older versions, and allowing for customers to see value in future workflow integrations.
Task List
The updated task list features a new UI and enables more tasks to be displayed on the page. It also includes a new column labeled“Workflow progress’” that shows the progress of subtasks as a fraction.
Hamburger menu
The edit button on the task card has been changed to a hamburger menu button with the following options:
- Edit task
- New invoice
- Email client
- Upload document
- Delete task
Overdue and invalid tasks
Invalid tasks are greyed out in the task list to clearly indicate that action is required.
A task is considered invalid if it pertains to a deleted or archived client, or if there any outdated task for a particular service.
Overdue tasks remain as white as they are still valid.
Target Date & Deadline Colours
1. Yellow: target/deadline date is within 30 days
2. Orange: target/deadline date is within 10 days
3.Red: imminent - target/deadline date is the current date (i.e. today)
4.Black: overdue - target/deadline date is earlier than the current date
Filters
Although the filters design has been revamped, the functionalities remain the same.
Side Panel
We have introduced the side panel as a new feature on the task list page. The side panel will contain the workflow, task details and the progress note.
Click on the task name to open the side panel.
Details
The task details now sits in the ‘Details' tab within the side panel.
Workflow tab
Workflow is now accessible via the side panel. User can view and manage their workflow in the panel as per the existing functionality. They can update the subtask progress within the panel.
1. To view the workflow in detail click on the ‘View’ button to open the workflow modal
2. Users can also edit their workflow from the modal by clicking on the edit button
3. Alternatively they can click on the workflow edit button in the panel
The user can also attach an existing workflow to the task or create a new workflow for a task as per the existing functionality.
Progress notes
Users can add notes in the ‘Progress notes’ tab.
1. To add a note, enter your note in the text field
2. Select a staff from the ‘Notify’ dropdown if you wish to inform them about your note
3. Click on the Publish button to post your progress note and inform your staff if applicable.
Buttons
The task buttons functionality remains the same.
Clock button- Enables user to log time or start a time recording
Please Note:
- On the day of release, all users in these accounts will see the V3 Task List by default, with the option to toggle it off.
- Any user who was a V1 user, will be able to toggle between V1 and V3
- If workflow is enabled on the account
- all users will toggle between V2 and V3 (as V1 is not compatible with workflow).
- This will go back to the previous (V1) behaviour if workflow is then turned off.
- If the V1 user has a task breakdown, they can convert this to workflow at the point of enabling workflow
- If the user switches back to V1 then their workflow will not be converted into breakdown and they will lose their workflow progress.
