Import multiple clients with MTD details using the CSV template.
Preparing Your Import File
- Navigate to Settings > Import > Client Import
- Download the latest Client Import Template
- Open in Excel or Google Sheets
MTD Columns in Template
The template includes these MTD-specific columns:
MTD Qualifying Year
- Enter: 2026/27, 2027/28, or 2028/29
- Leave blank for non-MTD clients
MTD Quarterly Filing Period End
- Enter date in format: DD/MM/YYYY
- Used for task generation
MTD Quarterly Filing Next Due
- Enter date in format: DD/MM/YYYY
- Used for task deadline calculation
Next MTD Final Declaration Return Due
- Enter date in format: DD/MM/YYYY
- Used for task generation
Import Rules
- Client Type must be "Self-Assessment" for MTD services
- MTD Qualifying Year must be set if enabling MTD services
- Cannot enable both MTD services and Self-Assessment service
- Dates must be valid and in correct format
- Fee amounts must be numeric (no currency symbols)
Importing the File
- Complete all required fields in template
- Save file as CSV format
- Navigate to Settings > Import > Client Import
- Click Choose File and select your CSV
- Click Upload
- Review import summary showing:
- Successful imports
- Failed imports with error messages
- Fix any errors and re-import failed records
Post-Import Actions
After successful import:
- Review client files to confirm MTD details
- Check that tasks were auto-generated (if dates provided)
- Verify staff assignments
- Test email templates with sample clients
